Akira's Meet&Greet and Teaparty @ NYC

When Akira announced a meet & greet and a tea party in New York, no doubt in mind, I will attend and meet my fashion icon. Thanks to my lovely tour guide and fashionista, Aeryn, I gain more insight about jfashion specifically ouji style. I'm really happy that dansou is spreading around in the J-fashion community and I hope to be part of it.

Saturday, November 22

Left my hometown toward NYC early in the morning with enough time to get to my friend house, Aeryn, and make it to the Akira's meet & greet. Of course, the nature of people who are into fashion, we were fashionably late to the meet & greet because of preparation to look as cool. We also ended up dressed as twin, damper in blazer and chain for a cool host style.
When meeting Akira, Aeryn and I presented Akira with welcoming presents. My friend gave Akira plenty of sock from her company to last many winter and Korean raspberry wine. while I gave Akira salt&vinegar chip, hot flaming Cheetos, and a bottle of Coronita beer. Akira was really ecstatic about the gifts! Although it did took her a while to remember, I was really happy that Akira remembered me from Anime Matsuri few month ago. I ended up buying Akira's album & photobook and SPR lock necklace & hat.

While waiting in the shop, I got to meet so many old and new faces: It was a great reunion. After the meet & greet, I went to a famous Korean restaurant with Aeryn and her friend to eat. Food was really great, especially the pa-jeon and chap-chae!

Filling our stomach up, we head to the club at Webster Hall featuring Dirty South. The building was really big, with 4 floor with different DJ. It was 2 hours of rave and alot of fun! Though most of the time was hitting people around me who keep trying to grind behind.  When we left, we hit the nearest convenient store and bought so much drink to quench our thirst.

We had alot of trouble getting back home. We left the club around 2:30AM but arrived back home at 4:30AM because the metro train was running really slow. We knew we had to sleep, but instead we worked on our tomorrow outfit and deco our nail. I finally fell asleep around 6AM

Sunday, November 23

Begrudgingly, woke up at 8AM to prep myself up for the Akira's Teaparty. In honest truth, I didn't wanna do anything and would actually walk to the teapart with sunglasses on if possible. But I got myself pretty up for Akira.

I had brought my few asset of my ouji clothes, but ended up not being used at all. Instead, I wore a matching jacket with my friend, again, to twin another day. I felt like a dark prince vampire, really dashing. Aeryn decided that she wanted to apply my makeup for today. My contour and eyebrow had never been so strong before! We arrived to our photoshoot around 12PM with other prince, Tess, and Xiaoyu. Our photographer was with Xin. I honestly don't know how to pose as a model, but regardless, had alot of fun!

Arrived to the teaparty at 1AM with time to say hi to old and new friends. One of the most memorable moment is something Aeryn and I had been planning to do for weeks. Based on a Nozaki's fanart, We tried to imitate the image by having Aeryn kabedon a friend while standing on my knee. Before we knew it, we started a kabedon trend that slowly found itself into the Akira's teaparty. We're not even sorry.

2PM, and the door is open. When entering, we are greeted by Akira herself. There was 3 tables that could hold 12 people each. The food were already plated on the the tables. Food consist of sandwiches, macaron, and cupcakes. Our drink were personally given to us by Akira, which was really awesome.

When Akira asked me what kinda of tea I liked, I asked her to choose it for me: possibly the greatest choice as well biggest mistake of my life. She mischievously gave me two random tea bag in my tiny tea cup. The water was so saturated, my tea became pure black and bitterness. When Akira asked me if I liked my drink, I told her that it was delicious, with a hand gesture that said I was crying in bitterness. She laughed, took my cup and had a sip. She made a grunting displeasure face. It was hilarious xD

I enjoyed this teaparty so much better than the one in Anime Matsuri because we got to interact with the guest. Akira would go around the room and talk to each individual guest. One of the most popular request was for Akira to Kabedon them. It all started when the same girl whom my friend and I kabedon request Akira for a Kabedon first. Throughout the teaparty, all I could hear was girl giggling and screaming. It was funny.

While we were eating, Akira sang us one of her song that was used in an anime called Black Butler. Her voice was very vibrate and clear. I really enjoyed her mini concert!!

At the end of the teaparty, we got a chance to have our photo taken with Akira. Again, alot of the guests asked Akira to Kabedon them for the photo. I, on the other hand, asked for a regular rocking pose. Because i'm all about punk.
After the teaparty, my friend Aeryn and I went back to the house and slept all day, regaining the sleep we lost the night before.

Monday, November 24

Last day, I want to make sure I was able to get the items that my sister want to bring back home: Meat bun. In the afternoon, I packed up and went to Flushing to Chinatown. I never seen so many Chinese in one area in my whole life. Aeryn took me to lunch at a famous dim-sum restaurant. Oh my god, I never felt so pressure to have speed to eat, as so many worker came to our table to convince us to eat what items they offer. My favorite dish was the shrimp dim-sum and the tea flower gelatin dessert.

After lunch we went to shop around, mostly for makeup and food. I bought my littler sister blush and lipgloss and my older sister facial wash, greentea kitkat and meatbun. I bought myself Rose of Versailles eyeliner & mascara which I literally freaked out in the shop and fangirl about Oscar sama. Also bought circles lens, body scrub and nude lipstick. It's really handy when your friend is a makeup artist to help you purchase your make up xD

After shopping, I quickly rode the metro to catch my bus to leave NYC. There was a train traffic and I almost missed my bus ride had Aeryn not grabbed a taxi and headed straight to the location. I arrived to my bus by 5 minutes. Phew!

Slept asleep in the bus and dream of my adventure in NYC hoping to return again very soon.

X-Japan @ MSG '14

X-Japan have been dear to me since childhood; They were my gateway to J-rock and Visual-Kei style. Before the concert, I was able to attend Yoshiki's Classical Concert at Otakon'14. From his performance alone, I was convince I must attend the all 5 member band concert few. To be able to watch X-Japan concert was a dream come true.
